A Maine Event

Boston and Maine, the perfect last stops on our way out of the US: Lobsters, 70 degree beach days, pink dyed hair, good friends, ice cream, 4th of July fireworks, long walks to lighthouses. We’re grateful to the Saxtons and McClellans for showing us the best of York Beach while Jordan was at sleep away camp. Rosie loved the animals and the work at farm camp (great business model: people pay you to take their kids for the day and you put them to work on your farm!)

Our final stop was to see my Aunt Marj and cousin Amy in Boston where we got some much-needed pre-trans-Atlantic flight exercise and home-cooked meals. It was sad leaving family and friends after so much fun and we didn’t realize it then, but it underscored how hard it would be to land in Portugal and not have any community….
